Dry red wine produced from grapes grown in the highest quality vineyards in the Upper Galilee.
Varieties
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc & 3% Malbec.
Growing region
Merom Hagalil - Upper Galilee
Tasting notes
This wine displays deep purple hues with aromas of red currants, plums and herbs. Full bodied with a long and balanced finish.
Food pairing
Pairs well with roasted leg of lamb, goose confit, or grilled sirloin steak.
Vineyards
The vineyards are cultivated in a cold region, at an elevation of between 780-850 meters above sea level, where snow in the winter is not uncommon. The temperature and humidity during the summer is relatively low, providing especially good conditions for cultivation of high quality grapes. The annual rainfall is relatively high, allowing for steady growth and limited irrigation.
Wine production
Following fermentation and maceration on its skins, the wine was aged in oak barrels for 14 months and matured for a further year in the bottle.
Harvest
The Fall and the Winter preceding the 2014 harvest were warmer than normal, and the annual rainfall was lower than average. Unusual weather was recorded between 10-14.12.2013 with heavy snow. Spring and summer were warmer than usual, which lead to the early blossoming and ripening of the grapes. The harvest began earlier than in previous years, creating balanced wines which display the full character of their varieties.
