Carmel Chardonnay Admon

2015
2013
Type of wine
Dry White
Varieties
100% Chardonnay
Growing region
Upper Galilee
Tasting notes
The wine is full-bodied and is characterized by the aroma of ripe pears, white peaches, brioche and vanilla. The aftertaste is long and well-balanced.
Food pairing
The wine is an ideal companion for dishes such as carpaccio locus (grouper), stuffed chicken with vegetables, and Vitelli Tonnato.
Vineyards
The vineyard is planted on a slope in the Admon Vineyard, approximately 770 meters above sea level, about a mile east of Moshav Dalton. The climate is cool throughout the year, and the region is also characterized by frequent wind and snow. The soil is reddish Terra Rossa and contains a high percentage of stone.
Wine production
After a gentle pressing, the grape juice was fermented in French oak barrels (approximately 25% of them being new), and continued maturing for eight months Sur Lies.
Harvest
The fall and winter leading up to 2015 were colder than average, although the annual rainfall was less than normal.
Due to the cool spring, the harvest started ten days later than average. August and September were warmer than usual, during which time there was a significant dust storm. Despite the complex conditions, the wines produced proved to be equally complex and of excellent quality.

Harvest
The fall and winter that preceded vintage 2013 had an average
temperature. Rainfall was higher than average, but warm spring brought an early
awakening. Spring and mild summer with temperatures relative to recent years
made for very good quality grapes. White wines very typical Zenith and balanced.
